Scarlino's only museum, the Centro di Documentazione del Territorio, offers a brief insight into the history of the area and exhibits ruins found in the nearby Castello di Scarlino.

The objects on display date back as far as the Bronze Age.

The highlights of the exhibition are the 13th century Spanish ceramics and a gorgeous vase that was found by archeologists with 100 gold florins inside. The coins date back to the 14th century.
