It may just be a gate but Cancello ex Ilva is a beautiful example of a neoclassical style that is only found in Follonica with its obsession for steel-wrought features.

Designed by Alessandro Manetti and Charles Reishammer, the gate is embellished by a hand-shaped torch, an ornamental design that came to symbolise the steel workers of Follonica.

Below this is the cross of Savoy adorned by two dolphins. Other sections of the gate carry festoons of neoclassical fruit and cornucopias (a classic motif and symbol of abundance).

It's definitely worth a few moments of admiration, considering how much work went into it.
